1. Summary

  • We collect only what we need to run the Apps, process purchases, measure our marketing and fix problems.
  • Some Apps work entirely on your device. Others send data to our servers or to service providers only when a feature needs it. Section 3 explains this app by app.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. On iOS we use advertising identifiers only after you allow tracking.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time (Section 10).

2. Information we collect in all Apps

Device and usage data. App version, device model, operating system, language, country (from your IP address), crash reports, performance data and events showing how you use the App (for example, which screens you open). We collect it with Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring).

Purchase data. When you buy a subscription or another in-app purchase, the payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card details. We receive information about the purchase (product, price, currency, dates, renewal and trial status, a transaction ID) through Adapty, which we use to manage subscriptions.

Advertising and attribution data. To understand which of our ads brought you to the App, we use AppsFlyer and Apple Search Ads attribution. They may process your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device data, install date and in-app events such as a purchase. On iOS we access the IDFA only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Notification data. If you allow notifications, we store a push token so we can send them (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service).

Support data. If you contact us, we keep your email address and the content of your messages.

3. Information collected by specific Apps

Call Recorder Pro

  • Phone number. You register with your phone number. We verify it with a one-time code sent by our communications provider Twilio. Your account (phone number and registration data) is stored on our server.
  • Call recordings. Calls are connected and recorded through Twilio. Call recordings and call details (for example, the numbers involved, date, time and duration) are stored with Twilio so you can play them in the App.
  • Retention. Recordings are kept until you delete them in the App or request deletion of your account at margoapps.com/account-deletion-request/.
  • Your responsibility. Laws on recording calls differ by country and state. Many require the consent of everyone on the call. You are responsible for informing the other party and obtaining any consent required where you and they are located.

JPG to PDF

  • The images and documents you convert are processed only on your device. They are not sent to us or to any service provider.

Voice Recorder

  • Recordings on your device. Audio you record is stored on your phone. You can use the recorder, playback, markers, trimming and export without an account and without sending any audio to us.
  • Microphone. The App uses the microphone only while you record.
  • Account. AI features (transcription, summaries, templates, translation and chat) require an account. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive your name (if you share it), email address (on iOS you can hide it using Apple’s private relay email) and an account identifier from Apple or Google.
  • AI processing. AI features run only when you ask for them, and only after you agree on the “How AI features work” screen in the App:
    • to transcribe a recording, its audio is sent to our servers and processed by AssemblyAI (speech-to-text);
    • to create summaries, notes, translations and chat answers, the transcript is processed by OpenAI;
    • your data is used only to provide these features and is not used to train AI models: data sharing for model training is turned off for our accounts with both providers.
  • Data stored on our servers. For subscribers, we store transcripts, summaries, template results, translations, speaker names, chat history, recording titles, folders and other metadata, so you can restore them on a new phone. Audio sent for transcription is deleted from our servers after processing, unless you turn on Store recordings in cloud. Then we also store your audio.
  • Provider retention. AssemblyAI deletes the audio and transcript after processing. OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deletes them.
  • Weekly usage. We count transcription time per account to apply the weekly transcription limit.
  • Reports. If you report an AI answer, we receive the reported text and your comment.
  • After a subscription ends. Your transcripts, other texts and cloud audio stay on our servers for 30 days and are then deleted. Texts already saved on your phone remain available there.
  • Turning off AI processing. You can turn off AI processing in the App’s settings at any time.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, maintain and improve the Apps and their features;
  • create and manage your account and subscriptions;
  • provide AI features you request;
  • send notifications you have allowed (for example, when a transcript is ready);
  • measure the performance of our advertising and app store campaigns;
  • analyze usage, fix crashes and test new features;
  • respond to support requests;
  • prevent fraud and abuse and keep the Services secure;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We process personal data:

  • to perform our contract with you (providing the App, account, purchases and AI features you request);
  • with your consent (tracking on iOS, notifications, AI processing, analytics where consent is required). You can withdraw consent at any time;
  • for our legitimate interests (security, crash reporting, improving the Apps, measuring our marketing), balanced against your rights;
  • to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting records).

6. How we share information

We share information only as described here.

Service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions:

Provider Purpose
Google (Firebase, Google Cloud) analytics, crash reports, remote configuration, push notifications, sign-in, hosting and storage
AppsFlyer install attribution and campaign measurement
Adapty subscription management and paywall configuration
Apple, Google app distribution, payments, sign-in, ad attribution
Twilio phone verification, calls and call recordings (Call Recorder Pro)
AssemblyAI speech-to-text (Voice Recorder)
OpenAI summaries, notes, translation and chat (Voice Recorder)

Advertising partners. AppsFlyer may share attribution data (for example, that an install or purchase came from a specific campaign) with the advertising networks where we run ads, so that we can measure and optimize our campaigns. Some US state laws treat this as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. See Section 11 for how to opt out.

Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property and safety of our users, us or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction under this policy.

7. Your choices

  • Tracking on iOS. You can allow or deny tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt and change it later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
  • Android advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in your device settings.
  • Notifications. You can turn them off in your device settings.
  • AI processing (Voice Recorder). You can turn it off in the App’s settings.
  • Email. You can contact us at any time to object to processing or withdraw consent.

8. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy:

  • account data: until you delete your account;
  • app-specific data: as described in Section 3;
  • analytics and crash data: according to the retention settings of our providers, typically up to 14 months;
  • purchase and transaction records: as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.

9. Deleting your account

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data and receive a copy (portability);
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your data;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • withdraw consent;
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email support@margoapps.com (Voice Recorder: voice@margoapps.com). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

11. Additional information for US residents

This section applies to residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws.

Categories we collect (described in Sections 2 and 3):

  • identifiers (email, phone number, account and device identifiers, advertising identifiers);
  • commercial information (purchase history);
  • internet or other electronic network activity (usage data);
  • audio and electronic information (recordings, only in the Apps described in Section 3);
  • inferences used to measure our marketing.

We do not knowingly use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the Services.

Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” identifiers and usage data with advertising partners through AppsFlyer to measure our ads (Section 6).

How to opt out of sale or sharing:

  • deny tracking on iOS;
  • delete or reset your advertising ID on Android;
  • email support@margoapps.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”.

On our website we honor the Global Privacy Control signal.

Your rights. You may request to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

12. International transfers

We are based in Armenia, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

14. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Our website and cookies

Our website margoapps.com uses Google Analytics, which uses cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
